In this seminar you will learn about important parameters influencing the properties of iron alloys as casting and structural materials. Moreover, you will see how casting process simulation supports and optimizes the production process.

You will be introduced in detail to the capabilities of casting process simulation for the prediction of casting quality and component quality. The main focus is on discussing the considerable effects production conditions have on casting defects, microstructures and local properties. These effects will then be evaluated through design of experiments and autonomous optimization. The seminar aims at developing specific measures for obtaining robust production conditions and optimized casting designs in iron casting.
